Halifax Paper Hearts
Our journey began on a trip to Calgary, Alberta in 2014 to celebrate the wedding of two women we love dearly. In recognition of their very special day, we wanted to give them a simple, quirky, contemporary note card. After visiting a few large department stores (we did not have time to hunt for lovely boutiques that afternoon), we were only able to find cards featuring champagne glasses, wedding cakes, and “bride & groom” illustrations on them. Our first design, “Let’s Grow Old Together” was inspired by this love story; a special card to celebrate the sacred experience
The wonderful squad at Halifax Paper Hearts believes in fairy tales, snail mail & cultivating closeness.
Founder Stephanie taught herself the art of graphic design. Together the team makes heart-make note cards and other fun things with love, care & salty air on the East Coast of Canada.
They want to use their heart-work as a platform to support local charities and contribute to building vibrant communities of love, connection & belonging.
Throughout the year, they contribute monetary donations as well as in-kind graphic design work & free product for auctions to a number of charitable organizations. In addition to this, at the end of every year they make a significant monetary contribution to at least one local charity.
